Although she may not look like it, Nicole loves to eat. And from her choices of favorite foods these days, I think we have a new foodie on our hands. She enjoys kobe beef hamburgers and hamburgers we make from beef tenderloin "chain." She's not afraid of spice as evident for her love of guacamole, flautas, or fish tacos (wait, do fish tacos from Rubio's bring down her foodie quotient?). And, much to my surprise, she loves the Barefoot Contessa grilled salmon salad, complete with capers, dill and red onion.
As far as we can tell, there are only 2 problems to all this. First, Nicole decided that she detests Kraft macaroni & cheese right after we purchased the Costco family pack. Oh well, the boxes will survive until she changes her mind -- even if that's in college. Second, because she prefers mint chocolate chip ice cream to vanilla or fruit flavors, it means there is less for us.

isn't there a third problem if nicole decides someday that she needs filet mignon in her lunchbox instead of PB&J?
Yes, that could be a problem. Guess we better getting working on the softball skills for her college scholarship. She's going to eat us into the poor house.
Fortunately she's also shown a fondness for Chef Boyardee ravioli, so we can save some money there.
My dear husband is mistaken (and perhaps is trying to make me look like a bad mother). Nicole has never eat Chef Boyardee ravioli, but she has eaten Whole Foods 365 brand ravioli. I think he's just trying to use her as a scape goat for his love of the Chef's pasta products.
Nicole's potential as a 1-year old foodie may not be as great as I originally thought. She tried gazpacho last night and decided it wasn't for her.
i hope you have started putting cappucino in her bottles, at least. it's never too late to start.
Just testing.
of course nicole comes by her appetite naturally. time is moving quickly and we'll see u soon.
love, grandma
